Plain language for a service that handles personal civic mail.
WriteMyRep is an independent constituent-mail service, not a government website, political party, campaign, or lobbying organization. We provide tools to prepare a letter packet or submit a print-and-mail request to a postal vendor.
You must use your own accurate residential return address, review the exact content before submission, and avoid impersonation, threats, harassment, private personal information, or illegal content. You remain responsible for what you choose to mail.
During beta, a human may review the message or a postcard proof for safety and operations before any mail is sent. A valid shared beta invitation may unlock one complimentary message for a verified return address; it does not require a payment method. The optional postcard proof is a separate one-time sample, mailed only to its requester’s verified return address. Outside that path, Stripe places a temporary card authorization at checkout, and we capture payment only if review approves the order. If we reject a paid order, or you cancel while it is awaiting review, we release the authorization and do not send mail. After approved mail, there is a five-minute cancellation window; after that, physical mail is final. If a paid mailpiece cannot be created or is rejected, we refund the affected recipient’s share.
The operator must complete legal, tax, postal, and vendor-policy review before enabling live payment and mail fulfillment.
